Role & Responsibilities
The Senior Coordinator – Health & Safety is a senior project leadership role that requires the incumbent to deliver quality regulatory compliance solutions that meet our client and project specifications. Senior Coordinators must be able to lead, manage and support projects and project team members. This Senior Coordinator will report directly in to the VP Operations and have the following responsibilities:
- Lead, Manage, Monitor and Support projects (including project implementation, problem solving, resource allocation, scheduling, cost and scope changes, project closing, invoicing);
- Interact directly with clients, government and regulatory officials;
- Lead, guide and inspire the Health & Safety team to excel;
- Manage direct reports (time management, invoicing, vacation/sick leave entitlements, job performance management);
- Conduct regular team and client meetings;
- Provide project specific expertise;
- Manage and drive multidisciplinary project delivery;
- Provide expertise on regulatory matters;
- Complete field inspections as required;
- Manage the following for the Health & Safety Division:
- Manage and delegate Health and Safety projects amongst the team members;
- Manage and maintain core Visser documentation;
- Develop and maintain training materials and process’ for the Health and Safety Division;
- Approve and manage Health and Safety Division invoicing;
- Enforce OH&S legislation internally and for clients;
- Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of employer, customer and contractor safety protocols, training and safe work practices;
- Coordinating and leading safety policies/practices internally and externally;
- Lead and/or participate in safety exercises including but not limited to: safety meetings, table-top exercises, emergency responses;
- Manage and conduct investigations and inspections internally and for clients;
- Manage Visser Consulting employees supporting the Health & Safety Division:
- sheet approvals, absence requests, overtime approvals, annual employee reviews;
- Mentoring, Training and Development;
- Resource management and Recruitment.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
- 5-10 years experience in a Health &Safety leadership role in the Oil & Gas industry;
- Demonstrated experience and a working knowledge of:
- OH&S legislation;
- Emergency Response Planning;
- Conducting Health & Safety field assessments and investigations;
- Project Management;
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) certification is a preferred;
- Demonstrated communication, reporting and leadership team skills are essential;
- Self-motivated, adaptable and flexible;
- Organizational skills;
- Ability to manage a wide range of work assignments and changing priorities;
- Field experience is considered an asset;
- Project management skills/experience experience an asset;
- MS Word, Visio, Outlook, Excel, data base experience;
- Up to date Safety tickets: WHIMIS, TDG, H2S, First Aid are an asset;
