Ben Visser
Founder & Director
Ben has over 35 years of experience in the Oil & Gas Industry including 8 years with the ERCB. Ben worked as a field operator, plant operator and a regulatory coordinator prior to founding Visser Consulting.
Ben is responsible for the pursuit of client satisfaction by ensuring company expertise and integrity. This focus guarantees that our clients regard us as trusted partners in their business goals.
Garry J. Visser
Chief Executive Officer
Garry has 8 years of oil and gas field experience including 2 years in maintenance, construction and pipeline installation, 1 Year at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology completing a Chemical Process Operations diploma and 5 years in field and gas plant operations. Since joining Visser Consulting, Garry has applied his field knowledge towards the development of the operational friendly regulatory solutions that Visser provides today.
Garry is responsible for compliance with corporate governance and fiscal responsibility while ensuring that the growth of Visser Consulting is in alignment with our corporate Vision, Missions and Values.
Kevin Visser
President
Kevin has worked in the Western Canadian Oil and Gas Industry in several different facets from Oilfield Construction and Drilling Waste Management to working as an ERCB Field Inspector in the St. Albert office for 2 years. Kevin has an Engineering Tech Diploma as well as an Environmental Chemistry and Law Diploma. In 2001, Kevin joined the Visser team and has been integral to the development of several services Visser is now proudly providing.
As President, Kevin’s role is to ensure that Visser maintains integrity in all facets of its operations and the quality of provided services exceeds our client’s expectations. Kevin also leads the sales and marketing team to ensure Visser continues to achieve their growth goals each year.
Mark D. Hudson
Chief Operations Officer
Mark has extensive experience in the Environmental, Safety and Emergency Response field including his career at Dow Chemical Canada and Syncrude. He has a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Management, a diploma in Environmental Monitoring & Enforcement and also holds a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation. Since starting with Visser in 2005, he has had many responsibilities including VP of the Safety Dept.
As COO, Mark is dedicated to providing leadership and direction to the Visser management team to ensure all services exceed the expectations, not only to the clients and governing bodies, but also Visser’s strict internal integrity.
Candace Quesnel
VP of Operations
Candace has a diploma from Olds College in Land Resource Management, majoring in Soil and Water Conservation and a Bachelor of Applied Environmental Management Degree, majoring in Monitoring and Compliance from Lakeland College. Since joining Visser Consulting Ltd. Candace has continued her education completing the Certified Occupational Health and Safety program thru U of A in 2008 and is currently working on her Project Management certification. In her years with Visser, Candace has been involved in most aspects of development and implementation of the provided services. Candace has also worked in the Environmental Division for the City of Kelowna, where she received hands on experience with Riparian Restoration.
Candace believes strongly in proactive compliance, accountability and value added training to ensure the safety of human health and the environment. She has excellent knowledge of process and regulations and is able to provide expert direction and technical support in areas relating to Regulatory Compliance.
Ashlee Leys
Human Resources Manager
Ashlee began her career in the Oil and Gas Industry in 1999. She is a certified Human Resources Manager from the University of Calgary and holds a diploma in Office Administration from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. She is a member of the HRIA and HRAC and is currently obtaining her CHRP designation. Since 2004, Ashlee has worked in various roles at Visser Consulting including Waste Management, Contractor Management, Executive Assistant and Office Manager.
Ashlee is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic human resource management and is a champion of our strong corporate culture. Her role is to ensure the company has a solid foundation and that its people are driving corporate strategy through superior employee satisfaction.
David Durda
Safety Department
David has an extensive background in health, safety and environmental. He has created and implemented various Safety Programs within the Oil and Gas Industry and has extensive experience with On-Site Safety Supervision. He is certified in Occupational Health and Safety and is a certified WHMIS Trainer. David has been with Visser since 2006 and since then has taken on the lead safety role within the company.
David is responsible for corporate safety compliance as well as affording our employees the opportunity to be successful and satisfied at Visser Consulting.
Brian Hoschka
Pipeline Operations
With 32 years experience in the Oil Industry, Brian has worked in all aspects of Pipeline Transportation. He has worked with many major Pipeline Companies over that period on construction, maintenance, SCADA and environmental issues. He has successfully provided solutions for pipeline integrity, pipeline facility construction, regulatory compliance, and emergency preparedness. A lifetime career in this industry has seen many changes and a variety of positions from hands on field work to Supervisory and Management.
Since joining the Visser team, Brian has been responsible for a fully integrated pipeline asset management system, providing operation and pipeline management, risk assessment and most importantly expertise to Visser’s clients and support staff. Brian is devoted to excellence in the Pipeline Industry and makes ensuring client satisfaction his first priority
